Mariah Carey featuring R. Kelly "Touch My Body"
Okay guys, help me out on this one. Have R. Kelly and Mariah ever been on the same cut together? I’ve been crushing my brain trying to think of something, but I don’t remember it ever happening, a shock since both seemed to have worked with everybody else in the R&B/ hip hop world. Nevertheless, the two forces come together on this latest take on Mariah’s recent #1.
“It’s the remix killa and I think she want me to feel her,” the R. intros before trying to beat The-Dream‘s record for how many “ey”‘s he can plant within one song. Since the touching of bodies is one of his greatest pasttimes, it’s no surprise that he would feel the need to jump on the track, taking the theme to R-rated places Mariah would never dare go. He promises to (kiss sound) any part of her anatomy she points to, runs through expected “hit it”/ “split it” rhyme couplets, than re-works a bit from the original into the oh-so-90′s R&B call-and-response line: “So if some honies up in here that want me to touch her body say ‘IIIII Do’/ (‘IIIII Do’)”.
Too bad it’s only a bootleg duet and Mariah’s portion remains the same. How classic would it have been for Mimi to re-write some lyrics and tie-in leaked sex flicks to one of the major figures of the phenomenon.
