Vonegutt “Day N Nite” featuring Theo Martins & D Woods (Kid Cudi Cover)/ “Put Me Back Together” featuring Tony Williams & Naledge (of Kidz In The Hall) (Weezer Cover)

After raising their profile a bit backing Big Boi on the rapper’s 2010 single “Follow Us”, alt-rock/ pop/ hip hop-melding act (and Purple Ribbon signee) Vonnegutt spark some attention back towards their own career with the release of mixtape $Free.99, a teaser-of-sorts to the genre-blurring ditties one can expect from their forthcoming full-length debut consisting of original material and a slew of semi-covers featuring the band, and a bunch of their many talented friends, taking on cuts from Donnis, Drake and Blink 182 amongst others.

Below, check out our two favorites remakes: a killer riff-heavy re-imagining of Kid Cudi’s “Day N Nite” featuring the blog-beloved Theo Martins and former Danity Kane member D. Woods, and a summer-slick cover of Weezer/ Raditude album cut “Put Me Back Together” boasting the soulful chops of frequent Kanye West collaborator Tony Williams and Kidz In The Hall’s Naledge.
