Ludacris featuring Gucci Mane “Shake N’ Fries”
While any guy who has muttered the words “With all that shake can a player get some fries with it?” to a chick within the past, say, fifteen years deserves to be shuttled off the planet for being a tired wannabe-mack, Luda gets a pass for using the “lame sitcom pick-up line”-as-hook, if only because he fills up much of the remainder of mixtape cut “Shake N Fries” with some of his best naughty-themed hilariousness in a long minute.
From “I put my balls on the table/ Tell her rack ‘em up” and “For an extra value woody/ Put this Big Mac into that Quarter Pounder pussy” to “It’s Ludacris, ‘Mr. Slay-A-Bitch’/ Unless that pussy is smelling like a Filet-O-Fish”, Luda comes very close to sounding like that old Back For The First Time Luda again, a refreshing change of pace from a lot of his recent material where his hunger and sharp, comedic wit seemed to dissipate into this underwhelmed boredom with the game.
Couple Chris’ reinvigorated sense of XXX-rated humor with the mush-mouthed Gucci Mane being a little more hit than miss with his typical brand of so-bad-it’s-good lyrical randomness (“Your mama turned out, she so popular/ You suckers can’t see her with binoculars/ She’ll suck your pocket dry like Dracula/ Her last boyfriend bought her an Acura”) and a booming, low=key beat churn that’s begging for a stripper’s booty clap to accompany it, and “Shake N Fries” lands as a wildly inappropriate jam satisfying enough to re-spark our slightly waned interest in Ludacris’ career.
