GLC “What This Ism Do”

Though mostly known by lesser hip hop heads for the street-rugged flavor he brought to mid-’00’s Kanye highlights “Spaceship” and “Drive Slow”, Chi-Town’s GLC has actually been pretty prolific on the underground mixtape scene over the years, in 2011 alone dropping not one or two, but three mixtapes for his fellow “Chuch!” bellowers.

Cool-as-‘f-word’ head-nodder “What This Ism Do” comes from the former G.O.O.D. Music signee’s latest tape, Eternal Sunshine of The Pimpin’ Mind, and the track’s smoove, soul-sample-fueled Blaxploitation tumble lands as the perfect frame for GLC’s drawling flow, many catchphrase-y ad-lib asides and mack-tastic dialogue as he schools folks on the ways of his “ism”, which apparently involves snatching other dudes’ women with ease and lots of stress (“Sometimes this pimpin’ hurts”).

A remix with Bun B and Ghostface Killah NEEDS to happen for this.
