Lykke Li “Love Out Of Lust (Saturday, Monday Bootleg Remix)”
Not much is known about Saturday, Monday beyond the slim tidbits of the producer hailing from Europe, being the newest signee to Sweden’s Despotz Records and having a new single slated to drop in a few weeks followed by an album sometime later this year.
What we do know is that we’re pretty fond of this introductory piece, a remix for Lykke Li’s Wounded Rhymes‘ cut “Love Out of Lust” that finds him applying to the tune stutter-step drum patterns, stop-start effects, doomsday piano and other dubstep-ish textures, conjuring up this clubby a-pop-calyptic ambiance (SM calls it “cinematic-electro”) that provides a whole new epic heaviness to the moody slow-burn ballad.
