Minneapolis four-piece/ Gayngs off-shoot Poliça have only been a thing since last June, but since then, the act have generated tons of buzz within the indie world and beyond, their hypnotically foggy wisps of occasionally vocoder-ed electro-indie-R&B-soft rock/ pop bearing this magnetic hold over the ear-space that seems to drift the listener to another space and time entirely.

“Dark Star” was one of the earlier previews offered from Poliça’s full-length Give You The Ghost and it stands as one of their most compelling, a forward-pummeling bass guitar funk strut, steady drum hits and simmering blasts of horns that teasingly threaten to steer the song into some sweaty Miami Sound Machine work-out laying a contagious groundwork for Channy Leaneaugh’s downright magical, Auto-Tune-ethereal vocal stamp.
